Aldo Rossi Parigi Chair 1989.

Aldo Rossi Parigi Chair 1989.
Rossi is one the foremost exponent of the post modern style but he eschews decorative embellishment in favour of quirky forms.
Here the geometry of the armchair is broken by a dynamic curve that forms the armrests and the legs, which seems to shift the entire structure out of its normal inclination producing an object with a particular dynamism typical of the so-called Streamline furniture style from the last period of Art Deco developed in the 1930s.
Made with enamelled tubular aluminium frame with leather-covered polyurethane foam upholstery.
Rossi said "Of all my work in architecture, I am increasingly fascinated with the design process for the armchair for UniFor: it began as a sketch or a note at the edge of a project plan in New York. It seemed very beautiful to me, it's like in a game: you are among those few who are not following the rules’
